Q: If I use the tool to phone bank will I have to make long distance calls?

A: When you make the calls you are given may be local but they may be long distance as well. If you are concerned about making long distance calls the best thing to do is to attend a phone bank hosted by a volunteer or OFA staff member. The best and easiest way to find a phone bank near you is to log in to your account on My.BarackObama.com and click here to view events going on near you.

Q: How do I print my voter contact lists?

A: To print your list, log in to your My.BarackObama.com account. Once you have logged into your account you should be redirected to your dashboard. On your dashboard, click on the campaign you would like to make calls or canvass by clicking the blue “Get Started” button and then click the red “Get Walk List” or “Make Calls Now” button. There you can click on the blue “Print List” button, make sure your pop-up blocker is off so you can view the new page. This will open a printable version of your list in a new window, select the "Print" button at the top of the window, which will open your printer dialog.

Q: I feel uncomfortable contacting someone on my list. What should I do?

A: In the "Report Voter Contacts" area, you can take someone off your list by checking "I'm uncomfortable contacting this voter" next to that person's name.

Q: How do I report contacts from my Call Lists?

A: Log in to your account and go to your dashboard. Click on the campaign you were working on. Towards the top of the screen it will say Report Calls from Paper List. This will bring up your call lists where there will be a blue button that says “Report” next to each voter. Click that button to open the script and fill in the voter's answers. When you’re done with your first voter click “Save & Next Voter" to go through the list in order, or click "Save" to return to the list and jump around.

Q: How do I report contacts from my walk list?

A: Log in to your account and go to your dashboard. Click on the campaign you were working on. Towards the top of the screen it will say “Report Contacts.” This will bring up the walk lists where there will be a blue button that says “Report” next to each neighbor. Click that button to open the script and fill in their answers. When you’re done with your first voter click “Save & Next Voter" to go through the list in order, or click "Save" to return to the list and jump around.

Q: I would like to contact more people than you gave me. Is that possible?

A: Yes. Every volunteer starts with a limited list of neighbors to contact. If you would like more voters, go to the walk list page and click the "Get More Voters" button and you will be given more voters. If you would like more voters than that you will have to wait to report contact information before you can receive more voters. The more contacts you report, the more new voters you can get.

Q: Can I get more time to contact the neighbors I was given?

A: You only have a certain amount of time to contact the voters on your list before they are returned to the pool and assigned to another volunteer. Don’t worry if you are unable to contact all the folks on your list before it expires. Someone else will call them later and you can continue on to a new list after yours expires.

Q: Can I access an expired list?

A: The voters on your list who you didn’t speak with are automatically put back into the pool so that another volunteer can contact them. Once a list expires, it cannot be accessed again. But don’t worry because you can get a new list and can continue making calls using that list of voters.
